Thickness of Aluminium
Dip the piece of aluminium foil already taken for grammage rub with an acetone-soaked cotton bud to remove text matter with boiled carbon tetrachloride or toluene and remove the polycoat carefully, and weigh i.e W2 gm.
Determine the thickness of the aluminium using the formula.
Calculation
NOTE: 2.71 is the density of aluminium
Limit: ± 0.005 mm of the specified thickness
Pin Holes
No pinholes should be present
Cleanliness Check
Check the cleanliness of printed aluminium strip foil. The test passes if the foils are free from dirty, mutilated, torn or stained, improper printing and pin holes.
