INSTRUMENTATION
Pycnometer
Thermometer
REAGENTS

PROCEDURE
- Take a clean and dry Pycnometer to weigh (W1).
- Fill the Pycnometer with recently boiled and cooled water at 250C and weigh the contents. The weight of 1ml of water at 250C in the air is 0.99602 g.
- Calculate the capacity of the Pycnometer. Using the formula.
- Adjust the temperature of the liquid being examined, to about 200C and fill the Pycnometer with it. Adjust the temperature of the filled Pycnometer to 250C, remove any excess of liquid, and weigh W3. Calculate the Weight per ml using the formula.
