PROCEDURE
- Dissolve a portion of the substance under examination in the designed medium (as per individual test procedure) to obtain a test solution having the concentration.
- Similarly prepare a standard solution in the same manner.
- Take UV absorption of sample and standard using 1 cm cells in the range 200 to 400 nm, unless specified in the individual test procedure.
- The requirements are met if the ultraviolet absorption spectrum of the sample and standard exhibit maxima at the same wavelengths and absorptivities and or absorbance ratios are within the limit.
